I’ve never really done this before, because I feel kind of selfish thinking about what I want, but I thought just for fun, I’d do a Christmas wish list for myself. And actually, these are things I’d happily save up for and buy myself anyway, so it’s not so much about “gimme” as it is about sharing the things I love with you guys.
A Horse.
I’ve asked for a horse for Christmas every year for as long as I can remember. And hey, maybe this year will be the year! ha ha! OK, so I live in an apartment in London right now, but one day…
Lady Dior Handbag.
Yes, in pink. Or white. Very girly I know, but I think it’s a thing of beauty. I also like the classic Chanel bags in black or white.
Hair Jewels
I promise not to wear them all at once. Well, maybe only when I’m at home… Having long hair makes it fun to put it up in styles, and then set a beautiful sparkling jewel just right.
Anything For The Bath.
When I was a kid, I was always getting bath cubes and soaps shaped like seashells and those little bubble things that had bath oil inside them, it was just something that you gave as a gift to little girls. I really miss that. It felt a little decadent, grown up and very feminine. Right now, any bath bomb from Lush is going to make me happy, but a luxury soap, bath oil or bubble bath is a huge winner.
Perfume
Chanel No 5. Enough said.
A Little Blue Box from Tiffany’s
Or Cartier. I’m not picky. I love the key necklaces from Tiffany’s, they also have a sweet little ring with I Love You engraved on it, which is romantic. I’d love a string of pearls or diamond or pearl drop earrings. Something classic.
Cashmere Sweater
Nothing like curling up in a cashmere sweater. I have a few, and usually buy mine from Uniqlo, which is totally affordable. Oh so soft…
Books
If you’re like me, you’ll get why one of the most romantic moments in cinema is when the Beast gives Belle a library. I love when someone gifts me their favourite book, or a beautiful hard cover version of a classic. Or anything from the Folio Society makes me a little desperate. But because I read a lot (about 100 books a year) I love when someone gives me a big Amazon gift voucher, and I can just buy a stack of second hand books.
Dresses or Shoes.
One day I’d love to own a really beautiful designer dress. (OK, I’d like to one day wear nothing but beautiful designer clothes, but you get what I mean) This one is by Alexander McQueen, but I’d love a Chanel suit or a Dior new look dress…
Candles
Nothing says “Christmas” like candle light. Any kind of candle is great, scented, coloured, what ever. I love them all. Nothing like curling up with a Dickens novel in Winter, with your cup of tea, a mince pie, and reading by candle light.
Caudalie, Sisley and Liz Earle Products.
Or very specifically, Caudalie SOS Morning Eye Rescue (which is about £15), Sisley Black Rose Cream Mask (retails for about £95) and Liz Earle Cleanse and Polish cleanser, which comes with these wonderful muslin cloths (around £15). These are all products that will change your life (and your skin!) and I wish I could afford them all year round, though the actual cost per use is pretty reasonable.
Make up Christmas Gift Packs
I love these so much. I think Lancome is perhaps my favourite, but I love them all. I love to buy skin care and make up from these brands, and at Christmas, you get a bunch of goodies along with them, and usually a really cute (and handy) make up bag. I love staring at these as a walk through the department stores at Christmas. They’re so beautiful.
Stationary
I love journals, they’re a great way to stay calm, and think things through, or write down thoughts and memories. I have a huge box where I keep the ones that I’ve filled, and every now and then, nostalgia takes me, and I read back through. I also write letters, and love to post them to my friends all over the world. So stationery is a bit of an obsession for me, and I love dipping into a store and coming out laden with a new journal, lovely coloured or scented pens, and writing paper or letter sets. Divine.
You’re so easy to shop for! I know almost everything under the tree already, but I love getting books and cds so I’ll be a happy girl Christmas morning 🙂
