London Fashion Week Festival 2017 and Mother Of Pearl Catwalk Show

This was the first year that I attended the Fashion Week Festival, which is now housed at The Store, on the Strand in London. I wasn’t entirely sure what to expect, but found a plethora of shopping, brands, coffee lounges, talks and shows, and selfie booths… enough to keep any fashionista happy.

So in case you were worried, pastel shades are still very in this season. And so is pink, ruffles, prints, embellishment, and lower heel heights. I love the softer tones and luxe fabrics right now. Velvets, retro stylings and silks, lace, ruffles… all of it!

Plenty of bloggers and photographers in attendance, as well as the best dressed “ladies who lunch”. Either way, selfie booths and backgrounds could be found in every corner.

The whole thing is set out like two concentric rings, with loads of fashion, from big brands, like Viviene Westwood, to smaller ones. Some huge discounts and deals to be found to.

Different areas dedicated to shoes, bags, jewelry, etc. Some of the shoes were to die for!Look at the tassels on these gold beauties!

Racks of beautiful things in wonderful colourways and patterns. I was happily impressed with the range of prices, from the insane to the bargain, but all the best quality and all designer.

Beautiful handcrafted butter soft leather bags in gorgeous shades. I’ll take one in each colour…

Everyone was in such a good mood, and so happy and helpful. The Tony & Guy booth, swamped with people. The Maybelline stand had so many people lining up for makeovers too.

Oh yes! The stylish people in the orderly queue ready for the Mother of Pearl show… which was sold out and totally full!

Before I move on to my favourite highlights of the Mother of Pearl show… They had little coffee and champagne spaces, and the barista made a dear little heart on the top of my coffee. LavAzza of course. Perfect.

If you want to know what I bought, I’ll have a mini-haul post coming out on Friday, with my cute purchases from LFW Festival.

The Catwalk: Mother Of Pearl SS17

When I booked my ticket, the catwalk show hadn’t actually been scheduled, so I picked the time slot I liked. I was so lucky that that turned out to be the Mother Of Pearl show, which was totally sold out and was quite the hot ticket.

Nothing quite so classic as all white, head to toe. Elegant and statement making, and just sheer enough to have a little sex appeal without being revealing.

Shoe detail. A lot of the clothes in this show were paired with these, or boot variations on them with ruffles. The heel height and chain detail are gorgeous, and I love these in white, though they had a wide range of colours on show.

Flowing fabrics and rich patterns, with little details: the belt, the subversive sleeve, little ruffles.

All ruffles all the way. A white dress with red shoes is an ultimate combination, updated here with a short flirty hem and luxe fabrics, as well as ruching and more frills. Beautiful.

sheers pinks, ruffles, textures and little unfinished hems and rips. It’s feminine but never prissy.

More looks longer hemlines here, flowing fabric and retro influences.

There was such a great energy and a great bunch of people, I’d definitely recommend heading over to this event next time. Tickets are quite cheap when bought in advance, and the catwalk shows and the talks are really wonderful.

Come back on Friday for more from LFW, my little haul of treats… But if you want to know more about London Fashion Week, there website is HERE or if you want to know more about London Fashion Week Festival, HERE.
