Nerd Alert: I Wear Glasses Now

OK, they’re actually just for seeing more distant things, so I won’t be wearing them all the time. But it makes me laugh because it means when I’m watching a movie, I have to wear them. So now I’m a card carrying movie nerd. lol. I’ve always thought that glasses were pretty stylish, so I’m pretty happy to have a cute new accessory, as well as being able to see things. These are from Dior, and come in tortoise shall (like mine) or black.

I really wanted glasses just like Kim Basinger’s in Tim Burton’s Batman from 1989. These frames were the closest that I could get. I love that they’re kind of stylish, kind of intellectual. And of course, I love Kim Basinger in this film.

I’m a bit obsessed with these, and love putting them on. I think they look a bit vintagey and just nerdy enough… This vest top is from Primark and says Bad Cattitude on it, it’s a Grumpy Cat top. My lips have MUA Makeup Academy Sleek and Shine which is a great lip balm with colour in it.

I’m really happy with these. I feel like the frames are light and comfortable, and yet feel strong enough that they won’t break or damage easily. They also came with a cool case that folds flat so they’re not bulky when I have to tuck them in my handbag.

What do you think? Do you like these? Any tips for someone new to wearing glasses? Do you have a favourite famous glasses wearer? Let me know in the comments below, or you can also find me on Twitter @CravenWild or on Instagram @hermioneflavia

  1. Yes and yes! (I have tips and a favorite famous glasses wearer). I got my frames to look like Marilyn’s in ‘How to Marry a Millionaire’ so they’re cat eye black frames with jewels on the top. The tip: Be careful when you take them off. Lots of times a strand of hair gets caught in the corner hinges and then I whip off my glasses and get my hair pulled out. Ouch!

  2. I’m glad you went for ones that allow your beautiful eyes to express themselves ‘unhindered’. I hated that fad of narrow, small glasses as they ‘clutter’ a persons eyes way too much. Your eyes are every bit as much captivating with them as without them – Good Choice! 🙂

After the pics above though, i’m now trying to figure out if you have contacts (why would anyone wear contacts with glasses??) or if your eyes are purple (from previous pics), blue, green or grey? 😉

Fave glasses wearer? Diana Prince, aka Lynda carter – Wonder Woman.

    1. Yeah, I’m not a fan of the smaller glasses styles either. I prefer more classic stuff. Glad you like them!
No, no contacts. Contacts scare me! My eyes are blue, kind of grey blue, but I’ve noticed in pics they seem to change with with lighting, etc. Not sure why that is!
