OOTD: Blue Pattern Dress for the Last Days of Summer…

This week marks the Autumnal Equinox, which means the very last days of Summer are upon us. Definitely time to wear some of your favourite dresses before it gets too cold. This one is from Joe Browns, which you can shop HERE. I paired it with some vintage accessories and a bold red lipstick.

I hadn’t heard of Joe Brown’s before, but their online store is really nice and their prices and quality are good. They specialise in bright colours, patterns, and sometimes a kind of 3D look to their prints. This dress is beautifully soft and drapes to mid length. It’s smocking detail across the bodice is really flattering, giving a nice feature to the waist and neckline. I love how flattering it is!

I love these earrings. They were my mum’s and were a huge trend in Australia in the 80’s. I love how bright they are, but they’re also big and bright. And surprisingly light. I was very happy the day she told me that I she wasn’t wearing them and I could have them.

I love the amount of colour and pattern on this dress. I think it’s really nice. And hopefully, with thick tights and a cardi, it can take my into the chillier days of Autumn.

I love this lip colour. It’s so bold! But it’s also creamy. It’s Borjois Rouge Edition Velvet liquid lipstick in Hot Pepper (retails from £8, get yours HERE)  It’s a true tomato, fire engine red, very flattering, and I love it because it’s easy to slip on, lasts well, and doesn’t dry your lips out.

My eyes I simply dusted with some of the warmer caramel shades from the Too Faced Sweet Peach Palette, which is one of my favourite things (that a dear friend gave me, best gift ever). I brushed the peachy shade Nectar up to the brow bone, then Caramelized over the lid and under the lower lashes, with Charmed, I’m Sure on the outer corner for definition. I kept it all soft and not too defined since the lip is bold, you don’t want too heavy eyes.

Have you shopped at Joe Brown before? Love them? Hate them? Sad to see Summer leave or psyched about the gold leaves of Autumn? Leave a comment below and let me know. You can also catch up with me on Twitter @CravenWild or on Instagram @hermioneflavia

  1. Love Joe Browns – even though I am a male hahha.. I like their shirts especially, with the way they mix and match colours – adding detail in the buttons etc… I have about 6 of their heavy weight Hoodies and about 10 of their shirts..
