Serum Vs Serum: Lancome Genifique and Caudalie SOS Thirst-Quenching

If you’re not using a serum in your beauty routine, you really should be. A serum is massaged into the skin after cleansing and before moisturising, and helps your skin absorb the active ingredients in your moisturiser, as well as having it’s own deep penetrating advantages for soft skin and anti aging. There’s a huge range of these on the market, so there’s something for every price point. Here are two that I’ve tried lately and really liked.

Lancome Advanced Genifique Youth Activating Concentrate £59 for 30mL.

I really like Lancome products, but as you can see, they’re not exactly cheap. I think if you can afford them though, they’re well worth it. They really do what they advertise. This serum is for all ages and skin types, which means anyone can use it. It’s won something like 150 awards for it’s ability to help skin look soft and younger looking. Personally, I feel like these things don’t work miracles, but this one really does give your skin an inner glow and keeps your skin healthy and moisturised throughout the day. I love it. I find it’s quite light weight, so it soaks in really nicely, too.

Caudalie Vinosource SOS Thirst Quenching Serum £29 for 30mL

Caudalie is another go-to beauty brands that I love, and the SOS range is so good. I also feel they’re incredibly good value, because their products last well and are a good price point. And they work! This one I love in Autumn and Winter because it really locks in moisture and helps maintain that moisture balance throughout the day. My skin really doesn’t like the chilly winter winds, and this keeps it healthy and balanced. Again, this one is for all skin types, even sensitive ones, and it’s also light weight, so it soaks in quickly and is never sticky or greasy. This one is really great for moisture balance. And it has a lovely scent too.

I use a serum both morning and night, after cleansing, and I feel like my skin really appreciates it. I’ve tried a few different ones, and some of the ones in your local supermarket are as good as the expensive ones, so they’re a good place to start if you just want to try adding one to your routine. These two are ones that I’ve tried and really like.

I honestly haven’t used many but I did use the Estée Lauder advanced night repair serum for a little while, I absolutely loved it but so very expensive! Thanks for the recommendations 😁
