I have had this shirt since high school! My best friend and I used to go into the local vintage store, which had all these cool things, and I fell in love with it, and had to have it. I have to admit, there are a lot of things about 70s fashions that I love, so I’m happy that they’re all back in again this season.
Of course, I could pair this with a pair of flared or bootcut jeans. But there was just enough warmth in the air to get away with shorts. This shirt is kind of thick, so it’s quite cozy. I think it was a men’s shirt, but I love the way it fits, kind of fitted but not too fitted. Plus that wide collar shape! Ha ha! I love it.
Close up of the print of the shirt. I like blue and red together.
I picked these shoes up from Dune about two seasons ago. I love how comfortable they are. Leather is firm but soft, so they feel like they’re hugging your feet. Platforms and tan leather are so 70’s, I love this kind of shoe peeping out from under a flared pair of jeans.
The earrings and necklace are from the 90’s. Of course, they were my mother’s. She has given me so many cools things from her wardrobe over the years. People don’t really wear matching sets like these as much as they used to, which kind of makes the whole look a bit more retro.
I would love to do a 70’s makeup look, but I can never really get it right. Here I did do the big 70’s blush, using the iconic Nars blush in Orgasm. I really love this product, I think everyone does. I also like the 70’s style of buffing the colour across the apples of the cheeks and up higher to the side. Autumn shades on the eyes, from the Stila Eyes Are The Window Palette in Spirit, which is such a beautiful and versatile palette. I just patted on lipstick, to keep it light, but it’s Max Factor lipstick in Pearl Maron, which is a red that isn’t too bright and has some brown to it.
I had a sample of Rimmel Fresher Skin Foundation to try from a beauty box, which I used here. The shade is 100 Ivory, and I was pretty happy with it over all. It’s a light coverage makeup, and though I generally prefer medium coverage, it’s quite blendable and did combat shine well. It’s a foundation that’s meant to be breathable and non-clogging, and I’d say that it was. So if you’re looking for a light, drug store price foundation, you might like this one.

Pretty stylish shirt, actually. I’m in a play set during 1983 right now and we get to wear a lot of old stuff. My necktie looks like a psychadelic oil slick.
