The Ladies of Grace Adieu by Susanna Clarke

A delightful book of adult fairy tales, from the author of Johnathan Strange & Mr Norrell, and set mostly in the same world, though involing different characters and timescales. I would suggest, for book lovers, to get it in hardback, because it is an illustrated book, and the paperback version does not do it justice.

It’s an entertaining read, it reminded me a lot of illustrated books about fairies with illustrations by people like Arthur Rackham. The stories themselves are good, they’re lighthearted, wicked and quite funny. All in all, it’s a delightful, magical read.

Read It If: You liked Susanna Clarke’s previous novel, you like fairies or fairy tales or if you like fantasy.
