Giveaway: Into The Water by Paula Hawkins

Paula Hawkins previous book, The Girl On The Train, was a huge bestseller. This is her follow up book, which is the story of a murder. Nel Abbot is found dead in the Drowning Pool, a place where witches used to be drowned, and which has a reputation of being a haunted place, where local women are said to be drawn to drown themselves. But Nel left behind a 16 year old daughter and a sister who refused to speak to her for years, because of events that happened at the pool when they were children. Surely she didn’t drown herself?

The town is full of secrets, and everyone seems to have something to hide, from the policeman investigating the case to the girl who drowned there recently, a girl who knew Nel Abbot. As the mystery unfolds, the small town lives and the stories of the women who died for being unconventional, for not obeying, are all told, from the witches of old to Nel Abbot herself. A mysterious, thrilling read.

Read It If: you love mysteries and crime. I loved the witchy historical back story too.
