It’s the little things at the moment. Here I am, with my coffee in my flamingo mug and a crisp white tee shirt, starting my day out fresh. I wanted to share three little beauty, self care, hair care things with you that made me happy today.
1. New Foundation: Maybelline, Dream Radiant Liquid.
I normally swear by Diorskin Forever, which has been a liquid foundation I have loved for years. They’ve recently changed their formula though, and when I went to buy it, there were no testers. Essentially, I have to wait til lockdown is over and head into probably Sephora to make sure I get the new equivalent. What to do in the meantime? Well, I’m not mad about this liquid foundation. It’s pretty much a shade match. I wear Diorskin shade 015, and this is shade 08 Fair Ivory. A lot of foundations are too dark, but this one looks natural. It’s medium coverage, which I like, and it has some nice ingredients like collagen and hyaluronic acid, which is why it claims to be a hydrating formula. My skin felt comfortable and not dried out at all.

It comes in a fairly good range of shades, and I’m pretty happy with it, as a drug store option. I felt like I looked healthy and natural, and not overly made up. It retails for $16.99, and you can take a look or purchase HERE.
2. Hair Must Have: Of course, it’s Olaplex.
I mean, this stuff is a god send. As someone with curly hair who dyes it blonde, I know hair damage, but Olaplex renews your hair from within. Or something. Basically, my hair looks good today and feels not at all like straw because I dampened my hair, smoothed Olaplex 3 over it, and left it in overnight, and washed my hair like normal.

Olaplex used to be a salon only product used during the dying process (that’s the 1 and 2 parts) but then there was a take home once a week mask style thing, which is the above, No. 3. Now there’s also a range of shampoo, conditioners and others hair treats as well. You can get them in loads of places now too, like Sephora, Nordstrom, … I recommend Olaplex 3, it’s $35 and since Sephora Ca is out, here’s a LINK to Shoppers Drug Mart.
3. The Best Sheet Mask: Gold Collagen Hydrogel Sheet Mask.
I like a sheet mask quite a lot, and if you make it cute or smell nice in some way, I’m sold. But for a mask that I really love that works, it has to be this one. Gold Collagen is a brand well known in the UK. Their big seller is their little glass bottles of liquid collagen which I really like. They honestly give your skin a healthy radiance boost. This mask is the next best thing, delivering that collagen goodness and moisture from the outside in.

These you can buy at London Drugs or Shoppers here in Canada, and I really like relaxing with one of these on for 30 mins. They feel so fresh and my skin feels so happy and soft afterwards. It’s a real boost. They are about $40 for a pack of 4, and you can learn more about them HERE.
So those are the three little things making me feel all relaxed and happy today. It’s important to take care of yourself when there’s a lot going on. That can mean something small, like a cup of coffee and a new drug store foundation, or something to treat yourself, like a decadent face mask and hair care. Or hugging your cat and watching some good TV. Whatever you’re doing, I hope you’re doing OK.
Uhhhh I haven’t tried the Maybelline foundation, I need to add it to my shopping list

It’s not bad. It’s not as great as some of the pricier ones, but I was pleasantly surprised.
