If you thought superfoods were just good to keep you glowing from the inside, think again! Beauty is going through a huge wellness trend, and suddenly kale is the ingredient of the moment. Sure, you can have kale in your morning supersmoothie on the way to your yoga class, but what if you’re a low maintenance lazy beauty who thinks the gym is too sweaty and vegetables are for rabbits? Well Nip+Fab and Nails Inc are just two of the brands that have you covered!
Ok, so really we know that nothing replaces diet and exercise, but a little boost to your beauty routine for an added lift is surely a good thing, right? Read on for two product reviews that explore the kale beauty trend.
Nip+Fab Kale Fix Moisturiser £19.95 for 50mL

I love the cheerfulness of the name Nip+Fab, it’s so cute, although it does remind me of something clinical a little bit (like the phrase Nip/Tuck..). This brand is I think fairly new to the market and has a range of products with natural ingredients and fresh packaging with a price range just a bit higher than the products in your supermarket shelf, but less than that at the beauty counters. So, it’s accessible. This product cracks me up a little bit each time I use it, because it literally smells like kale! It has a kind of vegetabley, leafy scent, but it’s not overpowering.
I feel like those of you who are Kale Obsessed, definitely will like this. Does it work? Well, it’s meant to be good for really dry skin, and it does keep my skin moist, but honestly for me I find it about as good as a supermarket cream, like Olay. I also find that it feels quite sticky on my skin, and doesn’t soak in quickly at all.
Nip+Fab have a whole range of Kale Fix products, from a clay mask to makeup remover pads, to shop the full range or find out more, click HERE.
Nails Inc. Nail Kale Nail Polish £15.00
(The shade pictured it Marylebone High Street, click HERE to purchase)
I love a peach shade of nail polish in Spring, it’s flattering to pale skin, and even prettier on suntanned toes by the time Summer is in full swing. Nails Inc probably needs no introduction. They’re known for their quality products, range of shades and innovation, and one of those innovations has been the Nail Kale range.
It promises to make your nails stronger and even healthier, helping your nail to grow and remove ridges in some cases. It’s a bit of a miracle product. This is my first Nail Kale product, but I do really like it. My nails tend to be a bit brittle and I found that this polish not only did not damage them, but was lasting, went on smoothly and I think made them stronger. I’m really happy with it.
If you’re not sure you want to invest in loads of new colours, or you like the product but still want to use your own shades, Nails Inc has a Kale enriched Base Coat which is a great addition to your manicure paraphernalia. It’s also £15, and you can find it HERE.
