There’s something elegant about a good manicure. But if I’m completely honest, my at home jobs are never as nice as I’d like them to be. So I’ve never really attempted any kind of nail art with any great success. I also think that a lot of nail design is really OTT. Enter Nail Wraps. These are like stickers for your nails with patterns and designs on them. You can wear them alone or over a nail polish to create designs easily, and they last longer than nail polish! I teamed up with Laila at Jamberry to test run this product for you. Read on to find out more.
As you can see, Jamberry nail wraps come in a range of colours and styles. I decided to mix a few patterns in with regular nail polishes from two different brands (Mavala and No7 Gel brands) to see which lasted longer. I quite like the way the designs look as a feature with other nail colours but you generally buy a full set of one pattern or design to use all at once. A full set of ten is about £15 and comes in an epic array of designs. You can take a look at Laila’s online store HERE.
These pictures were taken over the course of a week to show you how well the wraps last and how they look. I can say that my nail polish chipped before the nail wraps started to show wear. I also found them easy to remove without them damaging my nails at all.
All in all, I have to say that I have decided that I like this product. I think that the Jamberry brand is good quality. But I do have to say that they take a little practice to apply. You take the sticker that you want to use, heat it with something like a hairdryer, and then when it’s pliable, stick it to your nail. Again, apply heat, and use an orange stick to smooth the sticker on and get the nail wrap nice and smooth. Then you cut the end down to size and buff any excess off your nail. Personally, I found the application fiddly. Those of you who are already manicure queens probably won’t have the issues I did. I had to remove and reapply my first one. And it will peel if you don’t apply it correctly. What I suggest it checking out videos your first time, Laila has a bunch of tips and tricks on her Facebook page HERE.
Jamberry (CLICK HERE) is a brand a bit like Avon, with sales representatives. You can shop easily online, and buy different sets and packages. You can also host a party where you can have a night in and have someone come and show you how to use the products. I would use nail wraps again, but I will probably ask a friend to help me apply them, as for me they’re a bit fiddly and last best if you apply them perfectly.
